Care Package, Painting, Silliness with Maize

Winnie A. Sharon, Brenda, Jerop, Winnie K.
WE got an awesome care package from Donna and Abbey Johnson who were here with us for 3 months last year. They had taken home the bottle tops of the glass soda here to make necklaces for everyone! So creative and resourceful!

They also sent each child a cara-beaner with a light on it. So you can hook it to your belt loop and walk around with it. Very handy!
Also each child got a note and love!

Our little daughter is so funny and started dancing for the camera... I don't know where she learns these moves!

Levi and Lily wanted to sleep with his necklace right by his head!

Random dance party on a Wednesday night! So fun!

We rocked out all night! Seems we had some pent up energy and needing to dance wildly!!!

Found these little ones like this while Emily (our matron) and Maggie (our laundry lady) were mopping the dining hall!

Moses finally has some teeth... 3... so he can chew more foods!

Lily just a few days ago finally figured out what Muzungu means.... white person.... so now she will point to me and say "Muzungu, Muzungu, you are a muzungu mama!". She will also point out other Muzungu's rather loudly while we are in town!

Dennis

The children were helping to get the dried maize off of the cob so we can take it to the posha mill to be ground into flour to make ugali!

Naturally the children have to cover themselves with the powder from the dried maize! Derek
